The Vespa Project Part 1

Most people would see a heap of junk and keep walking, but Linc saw a "Project". Follow us as we turn a rust bucket into something magnificent once more.

Leonie Griffiths

In 1962, Vespa made a scooter that was the best of that year. A base model, but best nonetheless. The VNB 125 was Vespa hitting the nail on the head or, in technical teenage terms, sweet as bro.

This beauty, originally powder blue, was found in a shed on the Tablelands and had been sitting around for about 20 years when it was found by someone who realised its worth, along with two others. Linc scored it for $200.00.

Linc plans to "Hot it up! Modify it, put better parts in it, a bigger engine and give it a custom paint job!" But don't worry anyone who appreciates a great opportunity at restoring a fine piece of machinery. No decals will be touching it, except our ScootaCo logo. And some black GT stripes.

Currently, the Vespa is scattered around the workshop in pieces. When the next bright, sunny day comes along when everyone is out riding their scooters and not bringing them in to be fixed, Sebastian and Linc will finish disassembling it and get to work on restoring and sourcing new parts. We'll keep you all updated on the process of our new baby.

The scooter so far...
